Beth Wilson, Economic Development Director, attended the Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course in Little Rock from April 15 to 18.
The MSBEDC remains unparalleled in its focus on imparting fundamental concepts, tools, and skills crucial for success in today's dynamic economic, business, and political landscape. This comprehensive course provides a broad survey of community and economic development, emphasizing practical strategies and industry best practices that can be immediately applied.
Beth says, "Learning never stops, and I'm excited to gain more knowledge in community development to help Marion become the best for its residents and businesses."
There are several potential measures for the Nov. 5th election ballot, each requiring a certain number of valid AR registered voter signatures petitioning to have them placed on the ballot. A summary of the measures to date, with links to details of the measures, can be found at https://ballotpedia.org/Arkansas_2024_ballot_measures. A local measure will likely be added to the list. Please review so you can make an informed decision about whether or not to sign the individual petitions. We will update you on petition hub locations as we get more info.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders proclaims Economic Development Week to occur May 6-10. The week recognizes and honors the dedicated work of economic developers and their contributions to communities around the world.
We all are economic developers in some way when we talk about our community, whether at the ballpark, on an airplane, or in line at the store!
The West Memphis MPO needs YOUR input! Please visit http://west-memphis-mtp-1-atginc.hub.arcgis.com/ and take the survey. The MPO receives Federal and State Funds to improve and maintain the long-range transportation planning process.
Trash Collection during Inclement Weather:
During winter weather, trash collection is subject to weather and road conditions. We appreciate your patience during inclement weather. Garbage routes will run as road conditions permit. Please ensure the area in front and around your container is salted and clear of snow and ice. This will help ensure your trash service runs effectively during cold weather.
Dumpsters will be available for Marion residents at the District Court Building (old City Hall) and Greenway Equipment.
